More than a game

The excitement started well before puck drop.

Fans had the opportunity to meet some of hockey’s biggest names during two pre-game autograph sessions presented by 407 ETR, featuring Paul Coffey, Ryan Getzlaf, Joe Kocur, Wendel Clark, Doug Gilmour and Gary Roberts.

During intermission, renowned stickhandling specialist and Canadian national athlete Pavel Barber took centre ice for a live skills challenge, while Canadian sports broadcaster Rod Black returned as host for the evening.

From the meet and greets to the action on the ice, Hockey Night in Brampton once again offered fans a unique opportunity to celebrate Canada’s game while giving back to the community.

Playing for Brampton’s second hospital

At the heart of Hockey Night in Brampton is a cause much bigger than hockey.

Funds raised through the event support William Osler Health System Foundation and the development of Brampton’s second hospital, the new Peel Memorial Hospital.

As one of Canada’s fastest-growing communities, Brampton continues to experience increasing demand for health care. The new hospital will expand access to hospital services and help build additional health-care capacity for residents today and for generations to come.

Hockey Night in Brampton has become an important part of that effort.

What began as a charity hockey game has grown into a remarkable community movement, bringing together professional athletes, businesses, community leaders, donors, volunteers and thousands of fans.

Over five years, that collective support has generated nearly $80 million in donations and pledges for local health care.

“Hockey Night in Brampton continues to show the incredible generosity and community spirit that define our city. To see thousands of fans come together with some of the biggest names in hockey and raise more than $2.5 million for Brampton’s second hospital is truly remarkable. With nearly $80 million raised over the years, this event shows what we can accomplish when our community comes together for a shared purpose.”
