The City of Brampton has secured over $106 million in annual transit funding through the Canada Public Transit Fund (CPTF), which will be used to upgrade and modernize its public transit infrastructure from 2026 to 2036, supporting transit-oriented communities, increasing housing affordability, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions

City of Brampton welcomes Ontario’s rapid transit tunnel

Brampton is set to transform our transit system with the Hazel McCallion Line extension to Downtown Brampton. This four-kilometre underground extension will connect the Brampton Gateway Terminal to downtown. The project will enhance transit efficiency, drive economic growth, and support urban development, with the potential for 47,000 new housing units and 17,000 jobs.
