Downtown Brampton Revitalization
Downtown Brampton is undergoing a major transformation, supported by a dedicated investment of $23.8 million through the 2025 Budget, supporting the revitalization of Main and Queen Streets, including improvements to roads, sidewalks, lighting, street furniture and landscaping, and the reconstruction of Ken Whillans Square.
Downtown Streetscape for Main and Queen Streets
The demolition on Main Street builds on the City’s Downtown Streetscape project construction, a key element of the Council-approved Integrated Downtown Plan (IDP). Streetscaping initiatives focus on:
- Enhancing the urban environment
- Creating active linkages
- Improving pedestrian experiences
By upgrading roads, sidewalks, lighting, street furniture and landscaping, the project aims to create a more connected, welcoming and accessible downtown. These improvements are designed to support business growth, foster a vibrant street life and improve quality of life for residents and visitors alike.
