Before we pause, here’s a look at what’s happening across Brampton from late August through October.

What an incredible night for Brampton! Thousands of fans packed the stands at the CAA Centre for this year’s Hockey Night in Brampton on August 19th, coming together with some of hockey’s biggest stars in support of Brampton’s second hospital. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, this year’s event raised $2.525 million, bringing us another step closer to delivering the health care our growing city deserves. Join the Jays Care Foundation for a free, fun-filled baseball clinic on Friday, August 21, at Morris Kerbel Park! Children ages 4 to 12 will learn fundamental skills such as hitting, throwing and catching—no previous experience required. Register here

Celebrate The Many Faces of Canada on August 22–23, 2026 at the Bob Callahan Flower City Seniors Centre in Brampton. Enjoy two days of live music, dance, cultural performances, arts and crafts, complimentary food, and a special BBQ on August 23. This free, family-friendly multicultural celebration is open to all ages, with free parking available. Registration is required.

Enjoy Movies Under the Stars with free outdoor screenings across Brampton! Bring a blanket and enjoy family-friendly favourites including Elio and GOAT on August 21, Bad Guys 2 on August 22, Zootopia 2 on August 23, Hoppers on August 28, and Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu on August 29. Screenings take place at Caruso Park, Chinguacousy Park, Mount Pleasant Square, Boyce Park and Gore Meadows Community Centre. Join Community Ride #11 – Sheridan Ride (Ward 4) on August 23, 2026, from 9:45 AM–12:45 PM, starting at Susan Fennell Sportsplex, 500 Ray Lawson Blvd. Choose from 5 km or 15 km routes exploring local trails, bike lanes, Etobicoke Creek Trail, and Sheridan College. Held in collaboration with the Sheridan Bike Hub, this community ride is free to participate. Visit www.brampton.ca/cycling for more information and route details.

Join Brampton artist and dancer Enakshi Sinha for the Parkscapes series finale on August 27, 2026, from 6:00 PM–8:00 PM at Chinguacousy Park. This free outdoor dance and movement experience welcomes all ages and skill levels to explore storytelling, rhythm, movement, and Odissi dance, culminating in a special open-air community performance. Free Brampton Transit tickets and accessibility support are also available. Admission is free. View event details and registration.

Enjoy the Mount Pleasant Night Market every Thursday through August 27, 2026, from 4:00 PM–8:00 PM at Mount Pleasant Village Square. Spend the evening enjoying local food and market vendors, live entertainment, free kids’ activities and family-friendly community fun. Remaining dates are August 13, 20, and 27. View event details.

Celebrate The 2nd Asian Moon Food Festival on August 29, 2026, from 10:00 AM–10:00 PM at Kennedy Square in Brampton. Enjoy delicious food, street and market vendors, cultural performances, and a variety of unique goods, plus a chance to win a $500 Visa gift card. Admission is free.

Get ready for an exciting summer of Ball Hockey with the Brampton Steelheads! From June 29 to September 12, kids can build their skills, stay active and make new friends every Thursday at Sandalwood Park Outdoor Rinks – Rink #2. The program features two age groups: Ages 4–8 from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM and Ages 9–15 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM. Participants will also have the unique opportunity to learn from Coach Phil Oreskovic, a former NHL player, who will be leading on-ice instruction and sharing his experience at the highest level of the game. 

Get your first taste of Brampton Steelheads hockey as the team returns to the CAA Centre for three exciting 2026 preseason home games: August 30 at 4:00 PM vs. North Bay Battalion, September 5 at 4:00 PM vs. Guelph Storm, and September 11 at 7:00 PM vs. Barrie Colts. (Canadian Hockey League) Season tickets and flex packs are available for fans looking to secure their seats. Join First Nations singer-songwriter Pamela Levi for an interactive Songwriting Circle on September 3 and 17, 2026, from 7:00 PM–9:00 PM at the Pendergast Log Cabin. Connect with fellow writers and musicians, share original songs, receive feedback, and explore your creativity in a welcoming environment. Enjoy an evening of great food and laughter at Flava Pot Cruise Presents: A Banquet and Comedy Play on September 6, 2026, from 4:00 PM–9:00 PM at Century Gardens Recreation Centre in Brampton. Join the community for Flava Pot Cruise Restaurant’s first banquet and comedy play, featuring dinner, entertainment and plenty of laughs.

Discover the latest in technology and entrepreneurship at the 2026 Brampton Venture Expo (BVX) on September 10, 2026, from 10:00 AM–6:00 PM at 1 Theatre Lane, Brampton. This year’s theme, “Where Industry Meets Innovation,” highlights HealthTech, Robotics & AI, and Cybersecurity & Defence, with keynotes, panels, startup showcases, workshops, networking and live demos. View event details and registration.

Experience the 10th annual World of Jazz Festival from September 11–13, 2026, in Downtown Brampton and Gage Park. Enjoy more than 100 musicians across two stages, featuring everything from swing and bebop to funk, fusion and Afro-Caribbean rhythms. The festival runs rain or shine and admission is free. Help make Brampton greener at the CVC Native Wildflower Planting on September 12, 2026, from 9:30 AM–12:00 PM at Fred Kline Park. Join volunteers in planting native wildflowers to create habitat for butterflies, bees and birds while supporting a more sustainable and climate-resilient community. View event details

Celebrate the Coptic New Year Festival 2026 on September 12, from 11:00 AM–7:00 PM at 12091 Hurontario St. in Brampton. Enjoy a day of cultural festivities, authentic food, traditional music, live entertainment, kids’ activities, shopping, henna art, and more. Admission is free and everyone is welcome. Learn more

Run or walk the Don Doan Dash Race on September 13, 2026, from 8:00 AM–12:00 PM at Professor’s Lake in Brampton. Choose between a 5 km or 10 km course while supporting ALS Canada. View race details and register.

Celebrate Latino Heritage Month at Brampton Latin Fest on September 13, 2026, from 9:00 AM–11:00 PM at Ken Whillans Square. Enjoy a vibrant day of Latin music, delicious food, cultural performances, and community celebration showcasing Brampton’s Latino culture and heritage. View event details.

Explore Brampton by bike this September with two free community rides! Join Community Ride #12 – The South Creek Ride on September 13, from 9:45 AM–12:45 PM, and Community Ride #13 – Tour the Trees on September 20, from 9:45 AM–12:45 PM, both starting at Jim Archdekin Recreation Centre. Choose from 5 km or 15 km routes along the Etobicoke Creek Trail, with Tour the Trees also featuring special stops, a Brampton Forestry talk and free pizza. View cycling and route details.

Join the Brampton SuperWalk 2026 on September 13, from 10:00 AM–12:30 PM at Susan Fennell Sportsplex. Walk alongside family, friends, and community members to raise awareness and support for people affected by Parkinson’s disease and other neurological conditions. Join the World Peace Day Flag Raising on September 21, 2026, from 12:00 PM–1:00 PM at Ken Whillans Square outside Brampton City Hall. Come together to celebrate and promote peace through a special flag raising, reflections, community meditation, and live music, hosted by the City of Brampton and the Brampton Meditation Centre.

Celebrate Garba on September 25, 2026, from 7:00 PM–10:00 PM at the Brampton Sports Park Kabaddi Field. Come together for a lively evening of traditional Garba dancing, music, culture, and community celebration.

Celebrate creativity and community at the 10th Inclusive Arts Festival on September 27, 2026, from 2:00 PM–11:00 PM at Save Max Soccer Centre in Brampton. This free festival brings together artists of all ages and abilities for visual arts, music, dance, and interactive workshops, celebrating inclusion, self-expression, and cultural diversity. Learn more about the festival.

Celebrate Nigerian Independence Day on October 3, 2026, from 12:00 PM–2:30 PM at Brampton City Hall. Join the community in recognizing Nigeria’s independence, heritage, and culture with a special celebration in the heart of Brampton.

Celebrate Ontario Culture Days from September 18–October 4, 2026, as Brampton becomes an official Provincial Festival Hub. Discover more than 100 free arts, culture, and heritage activities at locations across the city, with something for all ages to experience and enjoy. Explore the Brampton Festival Hub and full schedule.

Join the Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure on October 4, 2026, from 8:00 AM–1:00 PM at the CAA Centre in Brampton. Run or walk the 5 km or 1 km route and help raise funds to support Canadians impacted by breast cancer. This volunteer-led event is Canada’s largest breast cancer fundraiser. Learn more and register.

Visit the 2026 Brampton Farmers’ Market every Saturday through October 10, from 8:00 AM–1:00 PM in Downtown Brampton along Main Street North. Shop fresh produce, prepared foods, and unique handcrafted goods while supporting local vendors, creators and small businesses. The market runs rain or shine and admission is free.

Join Credit Valley Conservation’s Tree Planting Event on October 24, 2026, from 9:30 AM–12:00 PM at Fallen Oak Park in Brampton. Help plant native trees and shrubs to support local wildlife, provide natural cooling, and create a greener, more climate-resilient community. View event details.

Experience the City of Brampton Pow Wow on October 24, 2026, from 12:00 PM–8:00 PM at the Brampton Soccer Centre. Join the community for a special gathering celebrating Indigenous culture, traditions, music, dance and community in Brampton.

Light up the night at Community Ride #14 – Diwali Glow Ride (Ward 4) on October 25, 2026, from 6:15 PM–9:15 PM, starting at Ken Whillans Square. Decorate your bike with twinkle lights and enjoy a slow-paced 11 km ride through Downtown Brampton in celebration of Diwali, followed by bike valet and snacks. Brampton is expected to celebrate the Azores Park Unveiling in September 2026 at Azores Park, 100 Malta Ave. The park will feature a full-scale replica of the historic City Gates of Ponta Delgada, recognizing Brampton’s Portuguese and Azorean community and celebrating their culture and heritage. 

On September 30, 2026, Brampton will observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day, honouring residential school survivors, their families, and the children who never returned home. Commemorative activities are expected at Brampton City Hall and locations across the city.

Brampton is expected to recognize Fiji Day around October 10, 2026, with a national flag raising at Brampton City Hall. The celebration recognizes Fiji’s independence and the Fijian-Canadian community in Brampton. The official 2026 ceremony date and time are still to be confirmed.

BlueKnot is a youth-led initiative founded by Turner Fenton Secondary School student Vedha Panchal, creating an inclusive community where individuals with special needs, families and caregivers can connect, share and learn together. With a growing network of BlueKnot Buddies and families, the initiative is working to build stronger connections across Brampton through community gatherings and activities.
